Want to turn your spare time into money?
Looking for a way to help pay for post-secondary schooling? Saving up for a car?
Want to make more money?
Don’t want to work for someone else?
What is a side hustle?
A side hustle is a way to earn money outside of your ‘9 to 5’ job or routine – i.e, school. It allows you to make more money that’ll give you the freedom to pursue your passions, buy things you need or want, and lower the worry of not having any savings. Essentially it is a business that you own and operate!
How do I start a side hustle?
This program is for high-school students in North Durham who are willing to explore entrepreneurship. BYC staff visit Port Perry, Uxbridge and Brock High Schools, run workshops on how to develop a business model, set up a financial plan, develop a marketing plan, and understand their plan so well they can sell their product or service to interested clients. If they choose to further develop their pitch, they can present their business idea to an audience and panel of local business leaders ‘Dragon’s Den’ style, and compete for the $1000 cash prize.
The Side Hustle program is a prerequisite to pitch in the ‘Dragon’s Den’ at your high-school.
Program length and distribution may vary depending on your school.
